Home contructed by Coiner Builders alleged to have multiple problems

CHARLESTON – A Kanawha County couple allege a Cross Lanes contractor poorly constructed their home.

Travis M. Rose and Jill J. Rose filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Coiner Builders LLC and Tom Coiner and Theresa A. Coiner alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that as a result of defendants' poor construction of their home, the plaintiffs suffered substantial costs and expenses of more than $50,000 and emotional distress. 

The plaintiffs holds Coiner Builders LLC and Tom Coiner and Theresa A. Coiner responsible because the plaintiffs allegedly found several issues with the home, including weak spots in the subfloor and deviation from the blueprints. The plaintiffs also allege that the defendants failed to pay subcontractors.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek and order discharging the mechanic's lien, award for damages of more than $50,000, plus interest, costs and expenses and any further relief that the court mat deem appropriate. They are represented by Tiffany M. Arbaugh of The Law Office of Tiffany M. Arbaugh in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie Webster.
