Former employee alleges Speedway store operator violated wage laws

WINFIELD — A former employee is suing Speedway, alleging violation of workers compensation acts.

Kashandra C. Perry of Winfield filed a complaint March 8 in Putnam Circuit Court against Speedway LLC, alleging violation of the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act.

According to the complaint, Nov. 13, 2017, Perry was separated from her employment at Speedway. Since her separation, the suit says, Perry has not received all wages due to her. 

The plaintiff alleges Speedway LLC has failed to pay all wages owed her on the the next regular payday following her separation from employment.

Perry seeks trial by jury, damages less than $75,000, plus costs of court and punitive damages to deter future misconduct. She is represented by attorney Thomas H. Peyton of Peyton Law Firm PLLC in Nitro.
