CHARLESTON — A South Charleston man is suing Dunbar nursing home operators, alleging negligence and reckless misconduct in the death of his mother.
Joseph S. Jones, as personal representative of the estate of Nancy A. Jones, filed a complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Sunbridge Dunbar Health Care LLC, 1000 Lincoln Drive Operations LLC, doing business as Valley Center and Genesis Healthcare LLC, alleging they failed to provide nursing home services in compliance with the state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
According to the complaint, on March 23, 2016, Nancy Jones was admitted at Valley Center's facility for rehabilitation and assistance. As a result of defendants negligence, the suit says, Nancy Jones suffered serious injuries, resulting in pain and suffering, mental anguish, inconvenience and medical expenses. She died April 15, 2016.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide adequate supervision and safety devices to prevent Nancy Jones from falling and failed to provide appropriate care and treatment services.
Joseph Jones seeks trial by jury, all damages as well as other items and relief that the court sees fit to award. He is represented by attorneys Jeff D. Stewart, Andrew L. Paternostro and S. Andrew Stonestreet of Stewart Bell PLLC in Charleston.
