WHEELING — A Weirton woman is suing a driver and Geico Insurance, alleging negligence and breach of contract.
Amanda Gaston filed a complaint May 7 in Ohio Circuit Court against Brianna M. Haggerty and Geico Advantage Insurance Company, alleging Haggerty failed to operate her vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.
According to the complaint, on Sept. 29, 2017, Gaston was stopped for a traffic signal at 10th Street and Market in Wheeling when she was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Haggerty, an an uninsured driver.
Gaston says she sustained severe and disabling injuries and incurred medical expenses. At the time of the accident, she was insured under the automobile insurance policy provided by Geico.
The plaintiff alleges Geico has failed to settle her claim for uninsured motorist benefits.
Gaston seeks trial by jury, judgment against the defendants, jointly and severally, for all damages in excess of the jurisdictional limits of the court, pre- and post-judgment interest, court costs and all other just and proper relief.
