HUNTINGTON — A Huntington roofing contractor is suing a former employee and competitor, alleging tortious interference with business relations and/or contracts.

Classic Construction Company Inc. filed a complaint in Cabell Circuit Court against Washburn Construction LLC and Trevor Washburn, alleging violation of the West Virginia Uniform Trade Secrets Act.

According to the complaint, despite numerous roofing estimates referred to Washburn in early 2018, the plaintiff's roofing repair orders dropped precipitously. Classic Construction alleges it suffered irreparable harm and economic damages.

The plaintiff alleges during Washburn's tenure with Classic Construction, he failed to return the calls to Classic customers and utilized the plaintiff's customer and pricing information for the defendants' own benefits.

Classic Construction seeks trial by jury, compensatory and punitive damages, attorney fees, court costs and all other just and proper relief. He is represented by attorneys Robert H. Sweeney Jr. and Michael A. Prye of Jenkins Fenstermaker PLLC in Huntington.
