Barbour County couple alleges medical care providers caused eye injury to husband

GRAFTON — A Barbour County couple is suing Taylor County medical care providers, alleging negligence caused eye injuries to the husband.

Glenn Rosier and Luann Rosier filed a complaint in Taylor Circuit Court against Grafton City Hospital Inc., et al, alleging the defendants failed to exercise the degree of skill and learning expected of reasonable, prudent health care providers.

According to the complaint, on July 28, 2016, Glenn Rosier was under the care of the defendants for treatment of a foreign body in his left eye. The suit says, as a result of the defendants' wrongful conduct, Rosier was caused to suffer injuries resulting in temporary blindness and loss of vision, emotional trauma, medical expenses and loss of enjoyment of life. 

The suit alleges Luann Rosier suffered lost wages and loss of consortium of her husband. 

The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to evert Rosier's upper eyelid during examination, failed to use proper magnification, failed to order a CT scan and failed to use proper equipment to remove the foreign body.

The Rosiers seek trial by jury, compensatory damages, plus interest, attorney fees, court costs and all other just relief. They are represented by attorneys Catherine A. Mullens, Hunter B. Mullens and Mathew Ervin of Mullens & Mullens PLLC in Philippi.
