BECKLEY -- A Raleigh County woman is suing a debt collecting corporation, claiming harassment.
Melanie D. Spencer filed a lawsuit Feb. 12 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Santander Consumer USA Inc., citing violations of Consumer Credit and Protection Act, Computer Crime and Abuse Act and Telephone Harassment Statute, as well as infliction of emotional distress and invasion of privacy.
Spencer claims she received multiple phone calls from the defendants in order to annoy and harass her into paying debts owed the defendants.
