BECKLEY -- A West Virginia man is suing over claims he was never paid a loyalty reward promised by his employer.
Grady Bragg filed a lawsuit July 30 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Pocahontas Coal Company LLC and United Coal Company LLC, doing business as Metinvest, citing breach of contract.
According to the complaint, Bragg was employed by the defendant companies and his employment contract included a bonus under a "Loyalty" the company has failed to pay. Bragg says he no longer works with the company, and the failure of the defendants to pay constitutes a violation of the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act.
Bragg is seeking the money owed, damages and attorney's fees.
He is being represented in the case by attorneys Greg A. Hewitt of Hewitt and Salvatore in Fayetteville and J.C. Powell of Powell and Majestro PLLC of Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge John A. Hutchison.
