Woman blames Kmart for slip-and-fall injury over floor mat at store

CHARLESTON – A woman is suing over a corporate discount department store claiming she was injured in a fall on their premises.

Rebecca Thompson filed a lawsuit in the Kanawha Circuit Court against Kmart Corporation citing negligence.

On July 5, Thompson claims to have suffered a fall at a local Kmart due to a badly damaged doorway floor mat. The plaintiff claims that as a result, she sustained multiple serious injuries which have harmed and inconvenienced her physically and financially.

Thompson is seeking an unspecified amount in damages for her injuries and damages sustained.

The plaintiff is represented by Charleston attorney Truman C. Griffith of Warner Law Offices PLLC.
