FAYETTEVILLE – A Beckley woman has sued a transportation company and its driver, claiming they are responsible for her injuries in a 2013 accident in Fayette County.

Amanda Wellman filed the lawsuit in Fayette Circuit Court against Long Run Transportation, Inc. and Roger McLaughlin alleging they were negligent in an accident that occurred on Dec. 4, 2013.

Wellman alleges she was driving on Mossy-Milburn Road when she was forced to hit a tractor trailer owned by Long Run Transportation and being driven by McLaughlin because McLaughlin was driving in the middle of the roadway. Wellman alleges she sustained injuries to her shoulder as well as a contusion and damage to her vehicle because of McLaughlin's negligence.

Wellman is seeking payment for special and general damages from both parties, pre-judgment and post-judgment interest, legal fees and costs, and such relief as the court sees fit. Wellman is represented by Charleston attorney Christopher J. Heavens of The Heavens Law Firm.
