Thomas Memorial Hospital allegedly negligent in slip-and-fall case

CHARLESTON — A woman is suing a South Charleston hospital, alleging negligence, after she encountered a slippery substance that caused her to fall.  

Alicia Diane Leyda filed a suit on Nov. 25 in the Kanawha Circuit Court against the Herbert J. Thomas Memorial Hospital, alleging negligence.

In November 2013, Leyda slipped and fell on a slippery substance on the floor of a freezer at the hospital. As a result of the fall, the plaintiff allegedly suffered permanent and severe injuries.

Leyda is seeking compensation for all damages received and legal fees incurred. She is represented by William P. Dean of the Dean Law Offices PLLC in St. Albans.
