FAYETTEVILLE — A Fayette County woman is suing Montgomery General Hospital for injuries suffered during an alleged slip-and-fall accident on the premises.

Patricia Dorsey filed a lawsuit Feb. 26 in Fayette Circuit Court against Montgomery General Health Care Systems Inc. and Montgomery General Hospital Inc.

According to the complaint, Dorsey was visiting the hospital on Sept. 23, 2014, when slipped and fell on a sidewalk, sustaining severe, permanent injuries. The suit claims Montgomery General Hospital neglected its duty to maintain the public walkways, and is therefore liable for Dorsey’s injuries.

Dorsey seeks a jury trial and compensatory damages in an amount to be determined at trial. She is represented by attorney Brandon S. Steele of Beckley.

Judge John W. Hatcher Jr. is assigned to the case.
