WHEELING — A salesperson is suing Forever Media of Ohio LLC and Jerry Hannahs, radio station and general manager, citing alleged discrimination, hostile work environment and disparate treatment.

Barbara Buchwach filed a complaint on June 17 in Ohio Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they violated the West Virginia Code and the Ohio Revised Code.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she has been subjected to continuous harassment by defendant Hannahs. She was also threatened almost on a daily basis that she was going to be terminated, she claims, further alleging that she has been humiliated and embarrassed and was eventually terminated on March 21 on grounds of poor performance and deteriorating attitude. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because Hannahs allegedly subjected her to disparate treatment in the terms and conditions of her employment due to her sex and age and denied her right to a workplace free of hostility and disparate treatment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks preliminary injunction enjoining defendants from attempting to enforce the referred to non-compete agreement, compensatory and punitive damages, attorney fees and expenses and such other relief as the court deems proper. She is represented by Patrick S. Cassidy and Timothy Cogan of Cassidy, Cogan, Shapell & Voegelin LC in Wheeling.
