Arturo Jimenez De Los Santos, 33, of Kearneysville, received a 10-month prison sentence and three years supervised release. He previously pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. He was found with crystal meth and cocaine in October 2015.
“Eradicating drug trafficking requires that all agencies work together,” Morrisey said in a statement. “I’m proud the partnership continues to yield success.”
The guilty plea and punishment are the result of a partnership between Attorney General Morrisey and U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld II. It has yielded five convictions and four sentences since being announced in December 2015.
West Virginia Assistant Attorney General Lara Omps-Botteicher prosecuted the De Los Santos case in her dual role as a special assistant U.S. attorney. It was investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative.
U.S. Chief District Judge Gina M. Groh presided.
