PRINCETON — A Monroe County woman is suing a Taco Bell operator, alleging negligence caused him to fall and suffer injuries.

Elizabeth T. Upton filed a complaint June 19 in Mercer Circuit Court against Charter Foods Inc., a Taco Bell operator, alleging the defendant breached its duty to maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on June 23, 2015, Upton dined at Taco Bell restaurant in Princeton. While exiting the premises, the suit says, Upton slipped and fell on a wet floor with great force.

Upton says she sustained injuries resulting in pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life and medical expenses. The plaintiff alleges Charter Foods failed to post warning signs that the floor at the exit area was wet and slippery.

Upton seeks trial by jury, damages in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, interest, attorney fees, costs and expenses and all other just and equitable relief. She is represented by attorney Jeffry A. Pritt of Pritt Law Firm PLLC in Union.
