FAYETTEVILLE — Letourneau Enterprises is suing American Electric Power Service and EC Source Services alleging they owe more than $2 million for work performed on a project in Fayette County.

Letourneau Enterprises claims ECSS, which is AEP's general contractor on a powerline construction project in Fayette County, entered into a contract with Letourneau to provide site clearing and related work for the project, according to a complaint filed in Fayette Circuit Court.

Letourneau claims ECSS failed to make payments for the work performed. Letourneau then filed a notice of mechanic's lien. It claims ECSS and AEP owe Letourneau $2,889,432.11.

The plaintiff then waited six months after filing the notice before filing the lawsuit against the defendants.

Letourneau is seeking compensatory damages. It is represented by Gene W. Bailey II and John K. Cecil of Hendrickson & Long.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Thomas H. Ewing.
