CHARLESTON — A man sues Covestro for discrimination based on his age.

Covestro and Christopher D. Sizemore were both named as defendants in the suit.

Covestro employed Douglas J. Blevins and consistently adequately performed his duties and met the defendant's reasonable expectations, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Circuit Court.

The defendants terminated Blevins' employment on Aug. 9, 2022, and when his employment was terminated, he returned all employer-provided property to the defendant, according to the suit.

Blevins claims his employment was terminated based at least partly due to his age.

The defendants violated the West Virginia Human Rights Act by discriminating against him because of his age, according to the suit.

Blevins claims he also did not receive his final wages.

"The Plaintiff did not receive from Covestro all of the wages and/or fringe benefits due for work he performed prior to his termination on or before the next regular payday on which the wages would otherwise be due and payable," the complaint states.

Blevins is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. He is represented by Paul L. Frampton Jr. of Atkinson & Frampton in Charleston.

The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Kenneth Ballard.
