In the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, a lawsuit has been filed by plaintiff Summer Mctheny against Trans Union LLC. The case, identified as 2:24-cv-00183, was filed on April 9, 2024.

The plaintiff, a 25-year-old consumer, alleges that Trans Union LLC violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), resulting in both economic and emotional damages. Mctheny claims that inaccurate or fraudulent information about her was disseminated by Trans Union LLC, causing substantial damage.

Mctheny is seeking actual, statutory, and punitive damages along with costs and attorney’s fees from Trans Union LLC. She argues that the defendant failed to assure maximum possible accuracy of her personal and financial information as required by federal law under FCRA.
