CHARLESTON - A Kanawha County man has filed a suit on behalf of his 16-year-old son who was injured while using a friend's dune buggy.
Timothy E. Lloyd filed the suit Aug. 19 in Kanawha Circuit Court on behalf of his son, Timothy Alexander Lloyd.
The suit is against Alma Bradshaw of Elkview.
According to the suit, the younger Lloyd, known as Alex, was operating at dune buggy July 18, 2006. At the same time, Bradshaw's son, John Bradshaw, was operating a motorcycle and riding with Alex Lloyd.
Alma Bradshaw was supervising the boys, the suit says.
At some point in the day, Alex Lloyd was following John Bradshaw up a hill when the dune buggy flipped, causing Lloyd serious injuries, including a broken leg. Lloyd claims he also suffered other injuries.
Timothy Lloyd claims he has incurred medical bills and suffered from loss of consortium as a result of his son's injuries.
According to the suit, it is unclear where Alma Bradshaw was at the time of the accident.
Timothy and Alex Lloyd seek unspecified compensatory and punitive damages to cover their injuries.
Attorney Damon L. Ellis is representing the Lloyds. The case has been assigned to Judge Irene Berger.
