Man sues contractor for failure to pay wages

CHARLESTON —- A Kanawha County man is suing a contractor for failure to pay wages.

Brian K. Townsend was employed by Stephen K. Korsen LLC, doing business as MDI Remodeling and Construction, from March 19, 2004, until his employment was terminated on July 27, 2009, according to a complaint filed May 24 in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Townsend claims the defendant failed to pay him for all hours worked and for overtime hours worked. He claims the defendant violated West Virginia code.

As a result of the defendant's failure to pay wages, Townsend is entitled to actual wages and liquidated damages, according to the suit.

Townsend is seeking judgment against the defendants for an amount equal to the loss of all wages plus interest and liquidated damages. He is being represented by J. Michael Ranson, Cynthia M. Ranson, George B. Morrone III and G. Patrick Jacobs.

The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Louis Bloom.
