Raleigh County motorist blames vehicle owner, driver for crash

Car accident 02

BECKLEY — A Raleigh County motorist is suing a vehicle owner and operator, alleging the defendants' negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Andrew Stone filed a lawsuit Sept. 22 in Raleigh Circuit Court against William Frank Linkous of Rocky Gap, Virginia, Blizzard Industrial Supply Company of Bluefield, Virginia, and/or Raleigh Mine and Industrial Supply of Mount Hope, West Virginia, alleging violation of West Virginia motor vehicle statutes.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 25, 2014, Stone's vehicle was rear-ended on state Route 3. The suit says Linkous, operating an International Flatbed owned by Blizzard and/or Raleigh, ran his vehicle into Stone's while the plaintiff was stopped in traffic.

The lawsuit states the crash caused Stone to sustain physical and mental injuries, plus medical expenses. The plaintiff alleges Linkous recklessly operated the flatbed and failed to maintain control of the vehicle.

Stone seeks trial by jury, judgment in an amount to fairly compensate the plaintiff's damages, attorney fees and all other general relief. He is represented by attorney Anthony J. Sparacino Jr. of Beckley.
