CHARLESTON – A Mason County woman says she was injured when she slipped and fell at Charleston Area Medical Center.

Courtney Keen filed her complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against CAMC.

Keen says she was at one of CAMC’s facilities in Kanawha County when she stepped on a clear wet substance, which caused her to strike and land on the tile floor with great force and violence and forcing her to sustain serious and permanent injury to her neck, back and other parts of her body.

She says CAMC and its agents were negligent in maintaining the premises.

Keen seeks compensatory damages for her physical injuries, medical expenses, pain and suffering, impairment of the capacity to enjoy life, humiliation, embarrassment, annoyance, aggravation and mental anguish. She also seeks interest and court costs.

She is being represented by Kevin Harris and Eric Holmes of the Law Offices of Harris and Holmes in Ripley. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Tera Salango.
