CHARLESTON – A man accuses his former employer of retaliatory discharge.

Adam G. Taylor filed his complaint in Kanawha Circuit Court against Centerline Communications and Michael J. Smith Sr.

According the complaint, Taylor worked as a generator technician for Centerline from March 15, 2021, until his termination on December 13, 2021. He alleges he was fired for repeatedly reporting safety issues with the truck he was assigned. He claims the vehicle exceeded the legal gross vehicle weight rating, and he says its tires were not rated for such weight.

Despite expressing his concerns multiple times to his supervisors at Centerline, Taylor says his complaints were ignored. He further alleges he was improperly disciplined after raising these issues.

Taylor says his dismissal was unlawful and retaliatory. He seeks compensatory damages, general damages, punitive damages, attorney fees, court costs and other relief.

He is being represented by Alex Urban and Rodney Smith of Rod Smith Law in Charleston. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Stephanie Abraham.
