BECKLEY -- A Virginia couple is suing Ford Motor Company, claiming a truck was defective and negligently designed.

William J. Graham Jr. and Crystal Graham filed a lawsuit Feb. 24 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Ford Motor Company, citing defective design or manufacture, negligence and loss of companionship.

The plaintiffs claim William J. Graham was a passenger in a 2008 Ford pick-up truck that was involved in an automobile accident on March 14, 2012, in West Virginia. According to the claim, the truck flipped and ejected Graham from the vehicle, causing significant and severe injuries to his body.

The suit alleges the faulty design of the truck caused the right rear passenger door to open during the rollover process.

The plaintiffs are seeking damages, attorney's fees, interest and court costs.

They are being represented by Princeton attorney Anthony R. Veneri of Veneri Law Offices and Virginia attorney Charles A. Stacy of The Charles A. Stacy Law Office and Personal Injury Center PLLC. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Robert A. Burnside.
