Fall at Heartland of Preston County caused death, suit says

KINGWOOD - A Kingwood nursing home is facing a lawsuit over claims it acted negligently, which resulted in a resident's death.

Wilma Wolfe, Administratrix and Personal Representative of the Estate of Juanita M. Wolfe, filed a lawsuit Nov. 21 in the Circuit Court of Preston County against Heartland of Preston County and Retirement Corp. of America LLC, citing negligence and medical negligence.

The complaint states on Dec. 13, 2012, Juanita was a resident at Heartland of Preston County when an employee was attempting to transport Juanita and caused her to fall and sustain massive injuries.

The plaintiff says complications from the injuries resulted in Juanita's death on May 30. The defendants were negligent for failing to correctly and safely transport Juanita, according to the complaint.

The plaintiff is seeking an undisclosed amount in damages and is being represented in the case by William L. Frame of Wilson, Frame & Metheney PLLC.
