MARTINSBURG - Martin & Seibert L.C. Shareholder Michael M. Stevens recently received his certification in litigation management by the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance.
Stevens successfully completed a comprehensive program at Columbia Law School in New York City — the first certification program of its kind specifically designed to provide an in-depth comprehension of the business of litigation management, merging legal theory and litigation strategy.
Training for the certification included reserving and data management, coverage, risk transfer, resolution strategy and litigation management metrics.
“The addition of this level of litigation management enhances our ability to apply the firm’s efficiencies to the specific needs and target goals of our clients, while providing advice on the internal and financial effects of litigation,” according to Walter M. Jones, III, the firm’s Managing Shareholder.
“We can better partner with clients on strategic planning and execution to achieve the desired results while managing the overall expense of litigation.”
Stevens now carries the Certified Litigation Management Professional designation, a professional achievement held by few attorneys nationwide.
