PRINCETON - A man is suing a hospital and doctor after he was allegedly diagnosed and treated for a cancer he did not have.
Herman Hicks filed a lawsuit Nov. 20 in the Circuit Court of Mercer County against Princeton Community Hospital Association Inc. and Gopal M. Pardasani MD, citing medical negligence.
The complaint states Hicks underwent a biopsy, which was examined by Pardasani, and he was diagnosed with breast cancer. Hicks says he received extensive and invasive treatment for breast cancer, including chemotherapy.
On March 14, a lung biopsy and a microscopic examination of the original biopsy were performed, and it was discovered Hicks never had breast cancer, according to the complaint. The complaint states the plaintiff unnecessarily underwent a mastectomy and chemotherapy that had no effect on his correct diagnosis of melanoma.
The plaintiff is seeking an undisclosed amount of damages, including punitive damages. He is being represented in the case by attorney Matthew C. Lindsay and Richard D. Lindsay of Tabor Lindsay & Associates.
