HUNTINGTON - A woman is suing Glaser Furniture Co. Inc. after she claims she was injured while walking across a parking lot it owned.
On Feb. 16, Debra Clark legally parked in the parking lot adjacent to 19th Street and Third Avenue, in an area designated for patrons of Fat Patty's restaurant, as she was intending to visit Fat Patty's, according to a complaint filed Dec. 5 in Cabell Circuit Court.
Clark claims while walking across the parking lot, she was caused to fall to the ground due to uneven and broken pavement, causing her to land on her shoulder.
The parking lot was owned and maintained by Glaser, according to the suit.
Clark claims Glaser had an obligation to properly maintain the parking area and failed to do so.
Glaser was responsible for the inspection and/or maintenance and/or care of the premises and was reckless and/or negligent and/or careless in doing so, according to the suit.
Clark is seeking compensatory damages with pre- and post-judgment interest. She is being represented by Kenneth P. Hicks of Kenneth P. Hicks LC.
The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge F. Jane Hustead.
