CHARLESTON – Jackson Kelly PLLC is pleased to announce the addition of our newest associate, Jennelle Arthur.

Arthur is practicing in the Firm’s Environmental Practice Group in the Charleston office. Prior to joining the firm, Arthur was an associate at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP.

She has experience in a variety of areas, including employment litigation, bankruptcy litigation, complex commercial litigation, government and internal investigations, securities enforcement and litigation and white collar defense.

In connection with her commercial litigation experience, Arthur has managed large scale electronic discovery projects, prepared witnesses for deposition and drafted various briefs and motions. She also has extensive pro bono experience, including drafting petitions for asylum and assisting with an amicus brief for submission to the United States Supreme Court.

Arthur graduated cum laude from New York University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and dramatic literature. She received her Juris Doctor in 2010 from Cornell Law School, where she was an associate for the Cornell Legal Information Institute Bulletin and an editor for the Cornell Law Review.

While attending Cornell, Arthur taught an undergraduate writing seminar titled “Cybertechnology and the Law.” She also co‑authored an article, "Supreme Court Previews: Ashcroft v. Iqbal," which was selected for publication in The Federal Lawyer Magazine.
