BECKLEY - A parent of a protected person is filing a petition seeking to settle a personal injury claim.
Scott McDonald, a protected person, by his parent Macel McDonald, filed a petition seeking permission of the court to compromise and settle claim of personal injury on Nov. 4 in the Circuit Court of Raleigh County.
Macel McDonald states on Oct. 5, 2011, Scott was a passenger in her vehicle when it was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Kortney Besl. Scott was treated for neck and back pain and has been released from medical treatment, according to the petition.
McDonald requests permission of the court to approve the proposed settlement and release.
Macel is seeking the court to appoint a guardian ad litem, that the matter be set for hearing and that Macel be granted authority to consummate the proposed settlement. She is being represented by attorney Teresa D. Daniel.
