CHARLESTON – Jackson Kelly attorneys Jessica Alsop and Robert F. Duncan have been elected to three year terms on the Firm’s Executive Committee effective Jan. 1.

Alsop is a member of the firm's Charleston office where she practices in the Commercial Law Practice Group. Her practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, financings and energy transactions, regularly representing companies in the purchase, sale and financing of mineral rights, and related plant and equipment. Alsop has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures involving public and private energy companies and private equity firms in various industries.
Duncan is the Managing Member of the firm’s Lexington, Ky., office and the Assistant Leader of the Firm's Industrial, Environmental and Complex Litigation Practice Group. Duncan's practice involves a wide variety of civil litigation with concentration on matters pertaining to the defense of doctors, hospitals and other healthcare providers in medical professional liability actions, matters involving complex insurance issues and insurance bad faith, products liability and construction. He also regularly serves as a mediator in civil litigation matters.
The firm's Executive Committee is comprised of eight members from throughout the firm’s 11 offices. Members of the committee are charged with short-term and long-term strategic planning for the firm as well as implementation of the plans. The role of an executive committee member also involves ensuring that business affairs are managed efficiently, balancing the interests of the firm and its clients.
