AMS Servicing sued for debt collection practices

BECKLEY -- A woman is suing after debt collector continues calling her home.

Shauna L. Boggs filed a lawsuit Dec. 23 in the Circuit Court of Raleigh County against AMS Servicing LLC, citing violations of the West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act, the Computer Crime and Abuse Act, the telephone harassment statute, intentional infliction of emotional distress and invasion of privacy.

According to the complaint, the defendant began to engage in the collection of debt from Boggs through the use of telephone calls and written communications. Boggs alleges the defendant harassed her while attempting to collect the debt.

Boggs is seeking an undisclosed amount of damages. She is being represented in the case by attorneys Ralph C. Young, Christopher B. Frost, Steven R. Broadwater Jr. and Jed R. Nolan.
