Fired employee sues Vision Mobile over final paycheck

Ntelos

WINFIELD -- A woman is suing after her former employer failed to send her final pay in a timely manner.

Karen Bracey filed a lawsuit Jan. 7 in Putnam Circuit Court against Vision Mobile LLC and Darrell Turner, also known as Darryl Turner, citing the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act. Vision Mobile operates as Ntelos Wireless.

According to the complaint, Bracey worked for Vision Mobile, owned by Turner, until her employment was terminated Aug. 27, at which point she was owed two paychecks. Bracey says she did not receive her final paychecks until September, long after the timely manner outlined in the Wage Payment and Collection Act, which caused her monetary loss and inconvenience.

Bracey is seeking damages in the amount of three times her owed wages, plus interest and costs. She is being represented in the case by attorney Kristina Thomas Whiteaker of The Grubb Law Group.

Putnam Circuit Court Case No. 14C1.
