WINFIELD -- A Putnam County woman is suing her former employer claiming she didn’t receive all of her pay after her termination.
Carla Stalnaker filed a lawsuit Jan. 7 in Putnam Circuit Court against Vision Mobile LLC and Darrell Turner, also known as Darryl Turner, individually, claiming the company and Turner willfully violated state law by not paying her final wages.
The suit states Stalnaker was employed by Vision Mobile -- doing business as Ntelos Wireless -- in its Hurricane location, and Turner owns Vision Mobile. Stalnaker was fired Sept. 17, and was owed two paychecks plus six hours of additional work in the new pay period at the time of her termination, according to the complaint.
She received her payment owed from Sept. 1 through Sept. 15, in an Oct. 1 check, but never received pay for the additional six hours, the complaint states. She claims to have suffered economic loss, annoyance and inconvenience in the lawsuit.
Stalnaker seeks an award of all economic losses, also an amount three times her paycheck, any additional damages determined at trial, plus court costs. She is being represented by Kristina Thomas Whiteaker of The Grubb Law Group.
