HUNTINGTON -- A family is suing after the son is sexually assaulted in an adolescent treatment facility.
K.W., on behalf of his son, a minor, filed a lawsuit Jan. 6 in Cabell Circuit Court against HHC River Park Inc., doing business as River Park Hospital, citing negligence.
According to the complaint, in December K.W.'s son was threatened and sexually assaulted by an older male while both were residents at Barboursville School, a facility operated by River Park Hospital for the treatment of adolescents with serious emotional disturbances. The defendant is accused of failing to protect K.W.'s son.
K.W. is seeking more than $2,000,000 in damages. He is being represented in the case by attorney James M. Barber.
