Ohio Co. man accuses State Farm of breach

Statefarm

WHEELING -- An Ohio County resident is suing a home insurance company over refusal to reimburse resident after home break-ins.

Christopher Palvic filed a lawsuit Jan. 18 in Ohio Circuit Court against State Farm Fire and Casualty Company, citing breech of insurance contract.

Palvic says on Sept. 26, 2012, and Sept. 30, 2012, his place of residency in Ohio County was broken into, causing a combined total of $3,335 in damages and stolen items. State Farm claims the break-ins are to be treated as separate incidents, even though their policy states otherwise. The defendant is requiring the plaintiff to pay a $2,000 deductible to repair damages and replace stolen items.

Palvic is seeking coverage for lost and damaged items, attorney's fees, court costs and damages. He is being represented by Joseph J. John Esq. of John and Werner Law Offices PLLC.
