Jackson Co. man sues after losing fingers on the job

RIPLEY -- A Jackson County man is a suing lumber yard after severing the index and middle fingers on his right hand.


Jessie D. Rhodes filed a lawsuit Jan. 14 in Jackson Circuit Court against JCO Lumber Inc., 500 Race St. in Ravenswood, citing intentional exposure to injury.

Rhodes says on June 27, he sustained serious injuries while operating a table saw on the job. The suit alleges the defendant asked Rhodes to make a custom cut with the table saw without proper training or safety precautions, resulting in the plaintiff severing his index and middle fingers on his dominant hand.

Rhodes is seeking damages and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Jackson attorneys Brent K. Kesner of Kesner and Kesner PLLC, Kevin C. Harris and Eric J. Holmes of Law Offices of Harris and Holmes.
