BECKLEY -- A man says a coal company owes him money, and he's taken the battle to court.
Vincent Frank D'Angelo filed suit Jan. 15 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Greenfields Coal Co. LLC.
According to D'Angelo, he sold his interest in a mining entity to Greenfields for $804,038 in 2010. D'Angelo says he was supposed to be paid in full by the April 1, 2011, but has yet to receive his full payment. D'Angelo claims to have notified Greenfields of the default and amount still due under the contract, but has yet to be paid. He calculates the current amount due as $202,379 as of Jan. 13.
D'Angelo wants a judgement against the defendants for the amount he is owed under the contract plus costs.
D'Angelo is seeking $225,684.73 in damages. He is being represented by attorney A. David Abrams Jr.
