Motorcycle accident results in lawsuit

HUNTINGTON -- A Cabell County couple is suing after she sustained injuries in a collision.


Alycia Pancake and Scott Pancake filed a lawsuit Feb. 13 in Cabell Circuit Court against Brian T. Smith and Matthew R. McFarland, citing negligence.

The plaintiffs claim on July 9, Alycia Pancake was injured while she was a guest passenger on a motorcycle being operated by Smith. A collision occurred between Smith and an automobile being driven by McFarland, both drivers were negligent, according to the complaint.

Alycia Pancake and Scott Pancake are seeking damages, including those for loss of consortium, attorney's fees and court costs.

They are being represented by Charleston attorneys H.F. Salsbery and Michael W. Taylor of Bailey & Wyant PLLC. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge F. Jane Hustead.
