BECKLEY -- A Raleigh County woman is suing three companies for debt collection harassment.

Rhonda F. Hoover filed a lawsuit Feb. 14 in Raleigh Circuit Court against Wells Fargo Bank, National Assocation and Sentry Credit Inc., citing violations of Consumer Credit and Protection Act, Computer Crime and Abuse Act and Telephone Harassment Statute, as well as infliction of emotional distress and invasion of privacy.

Hoover claims she received multiple phone calls from the defendants in order to annoy and harass her into paying debts owed the defendants. According to the claim, the defendants tried to collect the debts due in ways which are in direct violation of several laws put into place in the state of West Virginia.

Hoover is seeking damages, attorney's fees and court costs. She is being represented by Fayetteville attorneys Ralph C. Young, Christopher B. Frost, Steven R. Broadwater Jr. and Jed R. Nolan of Hamilton, Burgess, Young and Pollard PLLC. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Robert A. Burnside.
