Wyoming Co. sheriff says coal company hasn't paid taxes

PINEVILLE -- The sheriff of Wyoming County is suing a coal company for failing to pay their 2012 property taxes.



Randall Aliff filed a lawsuit Feb. 25 in Wyoming Circuit Court against Bluestone Coal Corporration and Bluestone Industries Inc., citing failure to pay taxes.

Aliff alleges in the suit the defendant has failed to pay their 2012 property taxes for three separate properties. According to the claim, the amount due for the three properties combined is $1,049,755.36 and as of Feb. 1, the defendant has neither paid nor challenged the amount due.

The plaintiff is demanding the payment of taxes in the amount of $1,049,755.36, attorney's fees, interest and court costs.

He is being represented in the case by Pineville attorney Micheal Cochrane.
