PERSONNEL FILE: Cline receives insurance industry award

CHARLESTON -- Spilman Thomas & Battle PLLC has announced that Director of Public Policy Jane L. Cline recently received The Shannon Award, the Independent Insurance Agents of West Virginia’s highest honor.

According to the organization, Cline was awarded this distinction in recognition for stabilizing, stimulating and expanding the West Virginia insurance market as Commissioner of Insurance of West Virginia and president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).

Cline served as Commissioner of Insurance of West Virginia for 10 years. In that position, she was responsible for regulating the insurance market in the state and gained unparalleled knowledge of the insurance industry on the national and international levels. She served as president of the NAIC in 2010.
