PERSONNEL FILE: Capito named to Generation Next: 40 Under 40

Capito brings katherine

CHARLESTON -- Dinsmore & Shohl’s Katherine B. Capito has been named to the 2014 Class of Generation Next: 40 under 40.

This is the ninth year the State Journal has assembled a class of professionals under the age of 40 who are making a difference.

“I’m honored to be named to Generation Next," Capito said. "Charleston is a very service-oriented community, which I appreciate. I think it builds a stronger community. There are a lot of organizations here, and I’m happy to play my part when I can."

Capito practices in the firm’s Labor & Employment Department. Outside of work, she is very involved in the community. She is president of the Appalachian Reading Center board of directors and serves on the boards of the Craik-Patton House and the Ronald McDonald House. Capito is a member of the human resources committees of the Childhood Language Center and YWCA.

She's also a member of the Rotary Club of Charleston, Charleston Young Professionals Kiwanis Club, Junior League and Leadership Kanawha Valley, Class of 2013.

At Dinsmore, Capito represents a variety of clients handling employment-related litigation matters, including discrimination and harassment claims. She has worked with clients ranging from coal companies to national consumer product retailers, handling everything from providing counsel to drafting motions to managing the discovery process.
