CHARLESTON -- Leadership West Virginia will convene in Charleston this week for the first of eight leadership sessions taking place throughout the state in 2014.
The session will be March 27-28 at the Charleston Town Center Marriott. Members of the 2014 class are receiving broad-based education on critical topics and, at the same time, gaining opportunities to enhance their leadership skills.
Throughout the two-day session the members of the class will fine tune their leadership skills both professionally and personally. Each class member will undergo profile testing to help assess their unique characteristics in relation to their interaction with others.
David Clayman, Clayman and Associates, PLLC, a clinical and forensic psychology firm located in Charleston, will facilitate the exercise, Honing Your Leadership Skills. Clayman is a graduate of the 1998 LWV program and serves as the 2014 Chairman of the Board. Scott Hamilton of Profiles International Inc. provided the assessments for the class.
Other presenters leading discussions aimed at challenging this year’s class to take their leadership to the next level include: Rob Aliff, LWV Class of ’06 and member, Jackson Kelly PLLC and Chair of the LWV Curriculum Committee, Bobby Blakely, LWV Class of ’13 and Regional President of BB&T, and West Virginia Chamber of Commerce President, Steve Roberts. Roberts also serves as the President of LWV. The session will conclude with a presentation on Business Etiquette 101 from Pam Harvit, Class of ’06 and founder, Harvit School of Etiquette and Protocol.
