Companies locked in dispute over oil, gas rights

Contract

MOUNDSVILLE -- A company is suing over disputing claims of ownership to interest in oil and gas on a certain plot of land.

JJK Mineral Company LLC filed a lawsuit Jan. 22 in Marshall Circuit Court against Hundred Resources Inc., citing a dispute over the ownership of interest in oil and gas on a certain property.

According to the complaint, JJK Mineral Company claims to own, acquired from Nancy J. and Don C. Sargent, 100 percent interest in the oil and gas of a tract of land known as the Crow Property, owned by GMO Forestry Fund and Charles A. Witsberger. The plaintiff says Hundred Resources wrongfully claims to own the interest to the gas and oil on the property.

JJK Mineral Company is seeking an order quieting title.

They are being represented in the case by attorney James A. Walls and Joseph V. Schaeffer of Spilman Thomas & Battle PLLC. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge David W. Hummel.
