WINFIELD -- A Putnam County woman is suing over claims her home was falsely foreclosed by the bank.
Angela B. George filed a lawsuit March 4 in Putnam Circuit Court against Bank of America, N.A., citing wrongful foreclosure and breach of contract.
According to the complaint, in August 2012, George was notified by Bank of America that her mortgage payments were received so a foreclosure would be cancelled. George says that on Aug. 29, 2012, while her house was on the market, she was notified by her real estate the property had been sold in a foreclosure sale.
George is seeking an amount in damages to be determined by the court, plus interest and court costs.
She is being represented in the case by attorneys David O. and Lisa M. Moye. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Joseph Reeder.
