BECKLEY -- A Raleigh County woman is suing GE Capital Retail Bank, claiming harassment.
Brenda K. Adams filed a lawsuit Feb. 28 in Raleigh Circuit Court against GE Capital Retail Bank, citing violations of Consumer Credit and Protection Act, Computer Crime and Abuse Act and Telephone Harassment Statute, as well as infliction of emotional distress and invasion of privacy.

According to the claim, the defendants tried to collect the debts due in ways which are in direct violation of several laws put into place in the state of West Virginia.
Adams is seeking damages, attorney's fees, and court costs.
She is being represented by Fayetteville attorneys Ralph C. Young, Christopher B. Frost, Steven R. Broadwater Jr. and Jed R. Nolan of Hamilton, Burgess, Young and Pollard PLLC, as well as Devin P. True as Co-Counsel. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge H. L. Kirkpatrick.
