WINFIELD -- A Putnam County woman is suing over claims she was injured when she was dropped by EMS responders.

Joyce Ann Call filed a lawsuit March 10 in Putnam Circuit Court against The County Commission of Putnam County, doing business as Putnam County Emergency Medical Services, Corey Smith, EMT Basic, in his capacity as an employee of Putnam County Emergency Medical Services, and William Weeks, EMT Paramedic, in his capacity as an employee of Putnam County Emergency Medical Services, citing professional malpractice.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 11, 2011, Call's daughter called an ambulance when her mother began having seizure-like activity. Call says the EMS responders dropped her mother when moving her to the cot for transportation. According to the complaint, Call sustained injury to her left elbow.

Call is seeking pre and post judgement damages as well as court costs.

She is being represented in the case by attorneys John R. Mitchell and David M. Dawson. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Joseph Reeder.
