CHARLESTON -- A Kanawha County man is suing over claims his employment was terminated in retaliation of his application for worker's compensation.
Joel P. Acey filed a lawsuit March 13 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Raymark Construction Inc., citing retaliatory termination.
According to the complaint, on Aug. 29, 2012, Acey's employment with Raymark Construction was terminated after he was injured on the job and filed to receive worker's compensation benefits.
Acey is seeking rehiring and back pay.
He is being represented in the case by attorneys J. Michael Ranson, Cynthia M. Ranson and G. Patrick Jacobs. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Carrie L. Webster.
