Former employee sues company for owed wages

CHARLESTON -- A Kanawha County business is being sued after allegedly failing to pay wages owed to former employee.

Edward James Hubbard filed a lawsuit March 14 in Kanawha Circuit Court against Unlimited Cleaning Solutions LLC, citing the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act.

The complaint states Hubbard was employed by Unlimited Cleaning Solutions from Aug. 23, until he was terminated on Nov. 26. The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to pay him earned wages within four days of termination as required by statute.

The plaintiff is seeking damages equal to the amount of lost wages, liquidated damages, costs and fees.

Hubbard is being represented by J. Michael Ranson and Cynthia M. Ranson of Ranson Law Offices and G. Patrick Jacobs of The Law Office of G. Patrick Jacobs LC. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge Charles E. King.
